the waiting game

this week was a quiet one for me - no work (wonderful!), but plenty of activity.  mainly, i've been 'nesting'... cooking up a storm, freezing meals for easy eats during emre's first few days, stocking the cupboards, keeping the house clean, and re-organizing emre's clothes (for, oh, the 50th time).  i did one last load of baby laundry last night.
little clothes, blankets & shoes... ready for emre

last bit of laundry

it's been fun, but i hope he comes soon, because the freezer is almost full!

i'm now 40 weeks (due date is tomorrow!), and rather uncomfortable.

hard to believe that in the last 10 weeks i've gone from this...

to this!

hurry up emre, we're soooo anxious to meet you!!

emre's room

this weekend we finished emre's room, when his crib was delivered & put together (ben's a pro at this stuff & put it together in about 30 minutes, what an awesome dad).  we've had a lot of fun picking out the pieces that will make it emre's space.  we've rearranged the furniture about five times.  now, we are ready for our little one's arrival, and all we need to do is... wait.  by the way, the waiting?  is the hardest part.

curtains & corner cabinet

crib - a temporary home for the boppy & pillow

story/nursing corner - with ben's childhood rocker

a print i bought on etsy & a classic storybook wall hanging from aunt sarah & uncle jeff

changing table/dresser, wall hook for hanging bath towels

lion king print - made just for emre by an artist on etsy

wardrobe

rose knobs on wardrobe & sign - our first baby gift - from adam & julianne

i tend to do a lot of waiting in here... my favorite room!

loading zone

i snapped this picture when i hosted the girls for coffee recently.  the babies were all lined up, waiting patiently as everyone prepared to leave.  these little ones range in age from 6 days to 3 months... and pretty soon, emre will make six!
