we've made it to march! i'm now 22 weeks pregnant & feeling pretty good these days, for the most part (though huge). emre seems to understand he has a 'baby brudder' in mommy's belly & likes to give him kisses & practices taking care of him with his baby doll. he's also making great progress with potty training - he's been using it regularly for about two weeks now. we aren't pushing it too much but he seems to be getting it all on his own! on weekday afternoons he & his nanny go down to the park and play soccer. our next door neighbors, a couple who have come to adore emre, have begun joining them. they wait for emre to go to the park & help him learn to play soccer. it takes a village!
i'm a little behind in posting pictures, so i'm doing a photo dump to catch up. yes, they are almost all of our sweet boy!
excited to see dede at brunch
saturday at the aquarium with dede & daddy
belly shot -i think i was 19 or 20 weeks here
went to pick emre up from school & found him playing with his friend willow. he loves school & all his friends there. every morning when we pull up he yells 'yay! cooool! hooorayyyy!' (cool means school)
sometimes he just occupies himself with these little projects and it blows my mind
oh boy, do we love our train set!
washing baby in the sink
getting baby ready for a diaper change
cooking, with baby - he loves his baby!
mischievous boy - blowing his whistle as loud as he can
baking pizza
'light on carpet,' by emre
finally wore his birthday crown, about a month later
like i said, loves the train set! his dad does, too.
all ready for bed with his big boy pillow & blanket & friends
enjoying a 'borek' with his dede
morning routine at school - circle time with songs
he's beginning to take interest in cartoons, but only for a few minutes at a time before he says 'no mommy, no' (which means i'm supposed to change the channel).
self portrait by emre
nilay's son devrim, making good use of the jumparoo we lent them!
emre loved his playdate with evie last saturday, even though he mostly watched her play & make crafts
morning play with mr. po-to-tato head (as he calls it)
followed by morning snuggles with daddy
while using his potty, he scooted over to the washing machine & began singing a made-up song with his face against the door. we love this kid.

Wonderful catch-up! Emre is surrounded with love. That's the way it should be. You two are such great parents. And Ali (Dede) looks so delighted with his grandson.
