our first month with kaan

it's so hard to believe kaan is already one month old (and i WILL post his monthly shots here, as i did for emre).  it was a busy month, with a week long visit from my mom and sister and nephew (pics below), and also a visit from uncle ado.  ben and i are adjusting to being parents of two, and emre is adjusting to having a baby brother (AND being at a different school for the summer - since his is closed until september, AND not having his nanny in the afternoons - as she is off on medical leave until september, AND, well, just way too much change in general for a two year old).  let's just say it's been a wild ride so far!  we are loving being a family of four, but woah, this is not easy.  i've mostly been surprised by how much of my time has been taken up by trying to parent emre (not with the baby, as i had pictured it).  the baby is easy - he sleeps, eats, poops… he's pretty content in general.  it's emre that we have to attend to and try to soften the blow of this major change, while trying not to spoil him, etc.  it will get easier, right?!

i'm posting some pics now from our first month with kaan, and i will post separately with his one month shot, and our vacation pics (we're just back from a week at the beach).  blogging has of course been put on the back burner while i tend to the needs of my little ones, but i intend to make up for lost time, somehow!

sarah, theo & mom arrived about two weeks after kaan's birth.  it was amazing to have them here, right when i was getting homesick, lonely & a bit depressed from being home alone day in and day out.  we didn't do much, mostly just hung out in between naps and mealtime of the three children who were on completely different schedules the entire time due to being babies, jet-lag, etc.  but it was just what i needed, and i am so grateful they made the trip.
