eating spaghetti for breakfast, cause that's how he rolls
one of the cutest affects of emre's speech is that he often replaces his R's with L's. so, if you ask him, his name is emlay, not emre. otherwise he is pretty articulate for a 2.5 year old, and quite the chatty kathy. last night he got hold of the phone when my mom called and talked AT her for at least ten minutes, when i finally ripped the phone away so that i could at least say hello (much to his disappointment). he keeps us laughing, even during these crazy, busy, stressful days… and we thank the universe for him every day. here are some of his best quotes so far, which i've saved so as not to forget them. enjoy!
:: while i was attempting to put laundry detergent in the washing machine, i naturally spill it all over the place & say to myself 'ah, crap.' emre is of course right behind me & says to me 'mommy, are you having the clap?'
:: mommy! kaan's sitting on the couch! (he was definitely NOT sitting on the couch, but napping in his crib…?)
:: me: emre, why don't you want to wear pants? (he never wants to wear pants)
emre: becauuuuuse…(sigh)... there are cars in the outside.
:: (one exhausted evening) mommy, i'm not happy. i'm having a tough time.
:: (one afternoon, after having a dance party to the music on his play guitar)
me: emre, when daddy gets home we'll have another dance party, ok?
emre: like, party?
me: yeah! dance party!!
emre: like… (starts singing) haaaaaappy birrrrrrthdayyy, to ME?
:: me: emre, WHEN did you get so BIG?
emre: 1:30.
:: one morning, while reaching for a coffee cup, i hit my head on the corner of the cabinet. it hurts. i mutter 'jesus christ!' before realizing emre is, as always, right behind me. emre says 'mommy are you ok? are you hurt? mommy... are you jegus clist?
