today is my dad's birthday. my dad has a serious green thumb, and that thumb tends to some serious gardens. this summer i've really missed being able to take regular trips home, as i used to do, to sit on the loggia and enjoy the garden. of course, seeing mom & dad was always nice, too ; )
luckily dad is also a great photographer, and has been sending regular updates of the blooms. here are a few recent ones, for all to enjoy.

Happy Birthday is right! tonight we went to Daut's to celebrate, and they gave dad a complementary strawberry shortcake. The real deal, with homemade shortcake and all. we missed you and talked about how much we wished you and Ben could be here.

Katie, i just realized that the awesome ben folds song is on the second disc that you made for me and sarah. I heard that song a while back on the radio and always wanted to get it. Well now i know ive got it.
