when i first moved to ankara (and during every visit before that), power outages were a regular occurance. lately they've become less so, with the exception of sunday night, when we lost power for about 3 hours. sometimes losing power is a total pain in the a** (like this morning, when i was doing my makeup in the bathroom and everything went dark- luckily that one only lasted 5 minutes). but sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered, on sunday night in the midst of a windstorm. sometimes it's the perfect excuse to light all of the candles in the house, put on some christmas music (from the laptop, of course), and just enjoy the darkness. that's what we did sunday night. here are some of the photos ben snapped while we were sitting in the dark:
