t'giving

i was very happy to travel home to ny state for 2 weeks. i was even more happy that thanksgiving fell during those two weeks, and i was able to spend it with my family. below are some pictures from the holiday...

eating out the night before thanksgiving is essential.

lynn kicked off the cooking, with her gourmet stuffing.
warm days made for nice walks, and the cats enjoyed it, too.
fresh herbs managed to remain despite the frosts, and added to the ingredients of the feast.

and lots of quiet moments, remembering those who couldn't be with us.

laughter is and will always be essential when in the company of the lansfords.
our surrogate siblings, and necessary thanksgiving component, matt & jess.
and more surrogate family, from england, joined us via the internet.
we tried to maintain an element of sanity amidst the cooking chaos... and failed.
one heck of a big bird... 24 pounds, to be exact.

it was nice to have a full table for our feast...
...the company was almost as good as the food.
don't forget the desserts... homemade apple & pumpkin pie and adam's pumpkin crunch. yum!
by the end of the night the pets had had it.
the next day we walked around skaneateles and found some holiday cheer - despite the cold, gray weather.

mom & lynn did their best to spread their cheer to scrooge... but weren't successful. bah, humbug!
