our busy week with mom

well we've had a jam-packed week with mom.  

these days emre is becoming more & more adventurous with his eating.  it seems he'll try anything we put in front of him - and he always wants a bit of whatever is on our plate.  it's fun, and makes mealtime sooo much easier.  here's hoping it lasts!

on sunday we had agatha & the boys over for dinner.  chaos ensued, as usual!

i've been working half days while mom's here which has given us the opportunity to trek around ankara in the afternoons.  on monday we hit up a major mall for some retail therapy before joining ben for dinner at a favorite fish restaurant, kolyoz.

on tuesday we took advantage of the gorgeous weather & had a lunch, followed by a walk down tunali, a major boulevard with shops.  we also stopped at plenty of parks for emre to enjoy.

on wednesday we had a pretty crazy day.  it started with hosting a coffee with the girls & bebes, followed by a trip to ulus (we left emre home for that one to nap), followed by freeplay at gymboree, and finally a dinner out at gunaydin.  mom definitely can't say i haven't kept her busy!

on thursday we ventured to the mall where there is an ikea and an aquarium.  after a tour of ikea we brought emre to the aquarium, expecting it to be a big treat.  turns out he's not that into the aquarium (especially not compared to the last time we brought him)

on friday we did some more shopping & had a fun night at home with pizza & a movie.  we've spent the weekend mostly relaxing - yesterday with a walk around the park (mom & i walked, for about an hour, while emre took a nap), followed by music class at gymboree and cooking a nice dinner at home.  today we'll probably have a visit from ben's folks, and another quiet dinner at home.

we've had a wonderful visit so far & mom's here for two more days, so i'm sure our adventures are not over yet!
