february blues

...can surely be cured with one glance at this little face?
baby kathryn is getting big! on sunday we had brunch with her (and her folks too, of course) and our mealtime took the inevitable turn to photoshoot. we brought her a kangaroo outfit from australia, and the hat really gave us a laugh.
she's just as cute upside-down
and up close, while being bounced by her mommy
i just love her. sigh.
in the presence of february it's hard not to feel down. this year it's made so much harder by the fact that it brings us to the one year mark since my sister's death. hard to fathom... sometimes, hard to breathe. ben and i are doing what we can to get through it, and decided it's time for a get-away. next weekend we fly off to amsterdam for the long weekend... really looking forward to losing myself in a new european city for a few days. any and all thoughts & suggestions on what we might do & see are appreciated.

and now, a little tuesday treat: words to live by, from the late great johnny cash.

You made us smile on a miserably cold Tuesday morning;-)! PS You and Ben need to start a family, as part of "saving for the future". No amount of money can replace the gift of that child's laughter!

She is sooo beautiful! I can't wait to meet her (and her parents!)this spring.
Thanks for the Cash song, I played it as I was getting ready for work this morning. Definitely feeling the February blues. We'll get through this month together.

Love xo
