snow! and beating the monotony of winter.

saturday morning we woke up to find that snow had fiiiiinally made its way to ankara.
unfortunately most of it meted later on in the day, but we're due for more this week. it is my supreme wish that we will have the snowstorm of the century and be house-bound for a day or two, unable to travel except by snow-shoe (i say snow-show because the snowmobile option was ruled out a few years back when my first attempt to drive one landed me in the snow after hitting a tree... but that's a story for another time). however, so far we're just getting extremely cold temps.

does this craving make me strange, or just from the north country? i miss those winter storms.

saturday evening, since we were not by any means snowed in, we enjoyed a relaxing dinner at adam and julianne's. relaxing, that is, until adam made the bananas foster for dessert! julianne said we should watch him do the flambe in the kitchen...
...i could see why when this happened!
but everything was fine, adam had it under control.
lincoln watched disapprovingly (because he knew he wasn't getting any)
chefs adam & julianne put the finishing touches on our very tasty treat
bananas foster!
i guess you know you're in the middle of a monotonous winter when banans foster are the highlight of your weekend... but, there it is. on sunday we hosted a turkish crowd at our place for a pizza & sangria party. random, but fun nonetheless. we sure are glad to have good friends to pass the time with!

not much else going on this week besides donning my thickest sweaters to keep warm in the below zero weather... happy tuesday, folks!

No one makes me "banan flambe"! Our winter continues to grind us down. But your Mom's birthday is Friday (and the weekend, of course). "Will she still love me, will she still need me, when she's 64?"
