on our first morning in brisbane, ben and i woke up at 3:30am. we went for a walk around the neighborhood, and then later on when aydan & ado were up, we all went into the city and walked around the botanical gardens. here are some pictures of our walk around brisbane:
this pepper tree was already sprouting some peppercorns- the smell was incredible.
back at the house: our friendly neighbor, the curly tailed possum, came down from the palm trees to say hello every night
and our other friendly neighbor, the gecko, did his best to keep the bugs away

mango trees are everywhere!
traditional queenslander houses are beautiful-- built up off the ground with large outdoor spaces built in. here are a few from around the neighborhood where the inals live:
