home renovations, part 2

yesterday we completed phase 2 of the home renovations.  the furniture guys arrived in the a.m. with our new closet.  it came in pieces, so it took them a while to bring all of it up to the 7th floor and build it in the bedroom.  then they took the old closet units from the third bedroom and moved them to the back porch, which will now serve as a walk-in closet for ben, plus storage.

once they finished, ben and i went to work cleaning the new & old closets, which had gotten quite dusty in the process, and then moved our clothing into them.

we wrapped up around 6pm, and boy were we exhausted!  we showered & headed out for dinner and drinks with friends - a much needed respite.

i spent this afternoon organizing a bit more.  although i will miss the walk-in closet of my dreams, i have to say this one is pretty nice!  and i know that we will be better off making use of the third room rather than being spoiled with a giant closet (or so i keep telling myself).

next up: the painters will be here this week to finish off the dining room, and ben and i will head to the carpentry shop early in the week to pick out woods/finishes for some of the new living room furniture they'll build this week.  our house is still in shambles, but little by little we're piecing it back together.  can't wait to see how the new furniture looks!

Very nice work! I can't wait to hear the story: in the middle of the night, Yigit jumps out of bed on his way to the bathroom, only to see an intruder facing him in the dark. Yigit screams. Katie screams. The lights come on. It's just the new mirror!
