the latest phase of home improvements has been the arrival of the first set of furniture we had made. it all came out beautifully! the carpenters themselves were as pleased as us... now to determine how best to make use of the new display space. i played around with some odds & ends last night, but have lots more ideas to try out.

we're going to pick out some knobs that will accent the wood nicely. the holes for the wine rack turned out to be much larger than necessary - the shop owners & carpenters are devout muslims & do not drink - they'd never built a wine rack before & explained to us that they weren't sure what to do! but that's ok, two bottles per slot has allowed ben to come up with a nice 'fish' design.
