hello from new york & happy july 4th

i've been enjoying some time with my family in new york... i arrived about 2 weeks ago & still have one week left. this is my first summertime visit since i moved to turkey, and we've been making the most of it! sarah & jeff even made it home for a week which has been wonderful. below are some pics of our adventures so far.

we celebrated july 4th one night early at my mom's cousin's camp on otisco lake. there they have a tradition of setting up flares around the lake, and rather than having a professional fireworks show, everyone does their own. it was quite the entertainment!

and of course we've been spending plenty of time in the pool! tonight we celebrate dad's 70th (!!) birthday, so surely there will be more pics to follow. happy summer!
