...with plenty of emre pics!
we're enduring the ongoing protests just fine. steering well clear of all the action, and hoping it will be resolved today (that's what they are claiming anyhow), so we can get on with enjoying our summer. power to the people and all that (surely we support the cause), but i would like to roam the city freely once again without fear of being tear gassed or water-cannoned clear off my path. sheesh.
so here are some pictures of our adorable little guy... who is beginning to TALK! he's got a vocabulary of about 12-15 words, both turkish and english, which ben reviews with him each night before bed (more? mo! araba? ah-ba! mama? ma-ma! kamyon? am-yahn! baby? beebeeeeeee!). he definitely understands pretty much everything i tell him (we're still working on the listening part, of course). he has a lot of fun with his daddy (current favorite activity is practicing karate kicks while screaming 'heeee-ya!'), but boy does he love his mom. this morning ben tried to get up with him so i could sleep in (until 7am - is that sleeping in?), but emre would have none of it. he screamed, and eventually took a running start at our door, banging full-body into it. at that point i decided to just get up, and he quieted right down. at bedtime he covers me in kisses while i dress him in his pj's. he lays his head on my shoulder and kisses it. it breaks my heart - every single time.
what can i say? i love my little e-man!
