emre weighs ten and a half pounds! we found this out at his one month checkup on tuesday, along with some other fun facts (he's grown 4 centimeters/1.5 inches in length, and will start smiling 'with emotion' very soon). mainly we just wanted to know when he might start sleeping for longer stretches, and our doctor assured us he'd start very soon. while we were at the hospital we also visited with the ultrasound technician, who informed us that his hips look just fine, and an ENT specialist, who assured us that his hearing is right on track. she told ben to keep speaking to him in turkish - although he doesn't understand a word we're saying, he's well aware of the different annunciations and his brain has already started grouping them into different categories - english and turkish - which will help his bilingual development. cool, huh? last night we fed him with a bottle for the first time and he took it like a champ - we're so proud of our little guy! below are some photos from the past week.
