twelve weeks

emre was twelve weeks yesterday!  we've had a very nice week, which involved on thursday a crazy sand storm.  we do not get these in ankara typically (or, ever, that anyone i've spoken to can recall).  the wind was so strong it knocked tiles and roofs off of buildings, and was quite scary at times up on our hill. but by the evening the dust had settled again and all was calm, leaving us with a majorly dusty apartment to clean up.  it brings to mind the many snow storms we had this winter, and the crazy hail storm that took place last spring... but no, global warming surely does not exist!

last weekend the weather was beautiful so we took emre out for some walks in g.o.p.  on saturday we ended up at our friend's place, mickey's, where we had a nice family lunch.

the week also involved, of course, a couple of fashion shows.  emre's beginning to outgrow his 0-3 month clothing and fitting nicely into 3 month sizes, and a little loosely into 3-6 months.  it's fun to have a whole new wardrobe to play with!

remember the viking romper i picked up as a souvenir in copenhagen?  well it turns out it was made in turkey.  a factory that sells its seconds in stores all over town had a bunch of stuff from the same company, for pennies compared to what i paid in denmark!  oh well.

he continues to love playtime in his gym, where he tries out different sounds with his voice - most recently a kind of howl...

...and is beginning to like the bumbo more.  this is good news, as i can now sit him in it as i work on things like organizing his clothes or doing laundry, and he is quite happy to watch.
